A few minor modifications have been made on the Skógafoss for scientific observations, most notably launching tubes for expendable temperature probes, and a van (small portable room) for launching weather balloons. But it's a far cry from the facilities on a science-dedicated ship, and I had to set up an ad hoc lab in my bedroom...
